GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION Exercises a high degree of initiative, independence, professional expertise, and supervision. Forms and executes broad policy in the management, administration, and supervision of the Citys Engineering Department activities. Responsible for planning, developing and supervising professional engineering and administrative work for environmental, water, sewer, street, and other community development projects and programs ensuring technical competence and compliance with all current codes and criteria. Work is widely varied, involving analyzing and evaluating many complex and significant variables. City-wide policies, procedures, or precedents may be developed and/or recommended.
